An expanding legal practice in Staffordshire is seeking a Private Client Newly Qualified Solicitor to join their thriving department. This opportunity offers you the chance to work alongside a knowledgeable and supportive team, handling a diverse range of private client matters including estate administration, will drafting, tax planning and lasting powers of attorney.

The firm is committed to nurturing your professional growth, providing clear pathways for career progression and potential opportunities. If you are passionate about delivering exceptional client care and eager to develop your expertise within a collaborative environment, this role provides an ideal platform for your ambitions.

What you'll do:

  • Handle the administration of deceased estates, both taxable and non-taxable, ensuring all processes are managed efficiently and sensitively.
  • Draft and prepare standard and complex wills, including those containing trusts for more intricate situations such as life interest trusts and discretionary trusts.
  • Advise clients on inheritance tax (IHT) and capital gains tax (CGT), demonstrating how these taxes impact planning for private client scenarios.
  • Draft and prepare powers of attorney including lasting powers of attorney (LPAs), as well as register enduring powers of attorney (EPAs).
  • Manage deputyship applications to the Court of Protection with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Prepare deeds of variation to facilitate changes in estate distribution according to client needs.
  • Establish and administer trusts while maintaining compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Support colleagues within the department by sharing knowledge and working collaboratively as part of a dependable team.
  • Liaise effectively with existing and new clients to provide clear advice and maintain strong relationships.
  • Participate in business development activities to help grow the firm's private client offering.

  • Demonstrate good drafting skills across a wide range of legal documents with particular importance placed on accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Show excellent listening abilities combined with effective problem-solving skills that enable you to address complex client needs.
  • Exhibit outstanding communication skills in both written and spoken form so you can explain technical subjects clearly to clients.
  • Display a passion for client care by consistently delivering high-quality service that meets individual requirements.
  • Be motivated and organised in your approach to work so you can manage multiple tasks efficiently while meeting deadlines.
  • Work proactively using your own initiative while also contributing positively as part of a collaborative team environment.
