Contract Lawyer /Senior Paralegal - Document Review
A leading UK law firm is seeking Contract Lawyers at NQ/Associate level to join their document review team, focusing on eDiscovery and quality control.
This role offers you the opportunity to be part of large-scale, high-risk disclosure projects that are pivotal to court and regulatory proceedings. You will work closely with senior lawyers and matter leads, ensuring the efficient delivery of disclosure exercises while maintaining accuracy, consistency, and defensibility across workflows. The assignment is expected to last between three and six months, providing a hybrid working model with occasional office attendance in Bristol based on project requirements. If you are looking for a role where your attention to detail, organisational skills, and collaborative approach will be highly valued, this is an excellent opportunity to contribute meaningfully within a supportive environment.
* Engage in high-profile disclosure projects that directly impact legal outcomes and regulatory compliance, offering you valuable experience in complex litigation environments.

* Join a knowledgeable and dependable team where your contributions are recognised, supported by training opportunities and a culture that values inclusivity, growth leadership, and inter-personal connections.
What you'll do:
* Support the translation of disclosure obligations, relevance criteria, and proportionality considerations into practical review approaches that are clearly defined for the team.
* Assist with the set-up and daily management of review workflows including first level review (1LR), second level review (2LR), quality control processes, and escalation routes to ensure smooth operations.
* Undertake 1LR and 2LR document reviews by applying your understanding of relevance, privilege, confidentiality, and escalate complex issues as needed for further guidance.
* Carry out quality control reviews of document sets to guarantee consistency, accuracy, and adherence to established protocols throughout the process.
* Help identify trends, errors or inconsistencies within review outputs and promptly flag these findings to senior team members for resolution.
* Collaborate with internal teams and external providers to support searches and workflows within eDiscovery platforms such as Relativity, ensuring seamless integration.
* Monitor review progress, volumes, and quality metrics while highlighting any risks or delays to senior colleagues so that corrective actions can be taken swiftly.
* Act as a point of contact for review teams by resolving queries efficiently and promoting consistency in approach across all participants.
* Support engagement with eDiscovery suppliers and technology providers by assisting with quality checks on outputs to maintain high standards.
* Assist with changes in scope including new search terms, custodians or issues under supervision from senior lawyers to adapt quickly to evolving project needs.
What you bring:
* Qualified lawyer status from the UK or an equivalent jurisdiction is required for this position at NQ/Associate level.
* Previous experience working within an eDiscovery environment or handling document review tasks in litigation settings is essential for success.
* Demonstrable expertise in undertaking quality control reviews on document review or disclosure projects will enable you to excel in this role.
* A solid understanding of disclosure processes including relevance criteria and privilege concepts is necessary for accurate decision-making.
* Hands-on experience using eDiscovery platforms such as Relativity (or similar tools) will allow you to navigate workflows efficiently.
* Exceptional organisational skills paired with the ability to manage competing priorities ensures timely completion of tasks.
* High attention to detail combined with a methodical approach guarantees consistent results across all aspects of document review.
* Confidence working within structured processes while escalating issues appropriately demonstrates your reliability as a team member.
* Clear written and verbal communication skills are vital for producing professional reports and updates on project progress.
