Legal Counsel (£400 - £550 per day)

My client is a growing technology business seeking an experienced Legal Counsel (£400 - £550 per day) to join its legal team. Reporting to the Head of Legal, you’ll support commercial contracts, negotiations and legal risk. Working with sales, procurement and operational teams, you’ll focus on technology agreements, customer contracts and public sector bids.

Location: Remote

Contract length: 3 months (with a strong chance it will be ongoing up to 6 months)

Key Responsibilities

• Review, draft and negotiate commercial contracts.
• Support contracts from bid stage through to signature.
• Advise on customer, supplier, software and managed services agreements.
• Support public sector bids, tenders and framework agreements.
• Review contracts linked to G-Cloud, TS4 and other procurement frameworks.
• Advise on liability, indemnities, intellectual property, service levels, termination and data protection.
• Work with internal teams to complete tender and contract documentation.
• Identify legal risks and provide practical solutions.
• Work with the Head of Legal and external advisers where specialist support is required.
• Help improve contract processes, templates and governance.

Skills & Experience

• Solicitor in England & Wales (or equivalent).
• Strong commercial contracts experience, gained in-house or in private practice.
• Experience drafting and negotiating complex commercial agreements.
• Experience in technology, IT services, software or managed services.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Commercially minded with a practical approach to legal risk.
• Ability to manage a varied workload and work effectively within a legal team.

Ideal Candidate

We are looking for a commercially focused lawyer with experience in technology, managed services, SaaS, telecoms, or public sector contracts.

You should be confident managing complex commercial contracts, working with stakeholders and providing practical legal advice. Experience with public sector contracts and framework agreements would be beneficial.
