Interim Head of Legal

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Interim Head of Legal in Manchester to join a dynamic and growing organisation. Reporting to the executive leadership team, you will lead the legal function, provide strategic guidance on complex commercial and regulatory matters, and support key business initiatives. This role offers significant exposure to senior stakeholders, governance matters, commercial contracts, compliance, and corporate transactions.

Key responsibilities of Interim Head of Legal:

• Acting as the primary legal advisor to senior stakeholders, including the Executive Team and Board of Directors
• Leading and developing the legal function, including managing a high-performing legal team
• Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide range of commercial agreements and strategic contracts
• Providing strategic legal guidance to support business growth, mitigate risk, and ensure compliance
• Advising on complex legal and regulatory matters including commercial law, corporate law, IP, data protection, and employment law
• Managing the legal aspects of transactions, including partnerships, funding arrangements, and M&A activities
• Developing and implementing legal policies, templates, and training to support operational Fefficiency
• Overseeing company secretarial responsibilities and maintaining high standards of governance
• Acting as Data Protection Officer, leading on privacy compliance and regulatory liaison
• Managing relationships with external counsel and legal service providers

Essential Skills & Experience:

• Solicitor in England and Wales (or equivalent), with significant post-qualification experience
• Proven experience in a senior in-house legal role, ideally with exposure to commercial or technology sectors
• Experience leading legal teams and working with executive leadership
