What you'll do:
As an Enforcement Lawyer – Data Management and Policy Specialist, you will immerse yourself in the heart of regulatory enforcement activity. - Support the Information Asset Owner and data management team by contributing to business-critical workstreams focused on data management and related policy considerations within complex regulatory investigations.
- Assist in developing and implementing comprehensive data management policies and strategies to ensure full compliance with all relevant data protection laws and regulations such as UK GDPR, DPA, FOIA, and sector-specific legislation.
- Provide high-quality, practical legal advice on data management issues to case lawyers and multi-disciplinary teams handling sensitive enforcement cases.
- Lead workstreams aimed at updating policies and procedures relating to data management in response to legislative changes or emerging best practices.
- Draft clear guidance for enforcement case teams on new or proposed legislative developments affecting data management protocols.
- Engage collaboratively with internal legal services teams, IT experts, government departments, other regulators, and external agencies on complex legal and policy issues concerning data management.
- Prepare and deliver training sessions or presentations to enhance understanding of data management requirements among enforcement team members.
- Instruct specialist counsel when required for particularly complex or high-risk legal questions related to data management.
- Work closely with forensic accountants, lawyers, and assistants as part of multi-disciplinary teams supporting the delivery of intricate regulatory investigations.
