About the Role:

Fantastic opportunity for an Employment Lawyer to join a global FMCG organisation. In this role, you will provide legal advice across a broad range of UK employment law matters, including the employee lifecycle, disputes, policy development, and employee relations, while also supporting international labour and employment law matters.

In addition to supporting the UK People & Culture function, this role will contribute to global and cross-border employment initiatives, with a focus on employee data monitoring, AI-enabled workforce programmes, and technology-driven HR practices.

The position will support the organisation’s wider transformation agenda and the responsible implementation of AI and digital tools within the employment context, working closely with colleagues across the legal function.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide employment law advice across the full employee lifecycle, including recruitment, performance management, restructures, exits, and employee relations matters in the UK and internationally.
  • Advise on cross-border workforce issues arising from global business initiatives, organisational change, and transformation programmes.
  • Support legal aspects of AI, automation, digital transformation, and technology-enabled HR initiatives, including workforce monitoring and employee communications.
  • Partner with privacy, technology, and compliance teams on employment-related data protection, AI governance, and workplace technology matters.
  • Manage employment disputes and investigations, including litigation strategy, settlement negotiations, and coordination with external counsel where required.
  • Support organisational change projects, including redundancies, transfers, and global workforce programmes, ensuring compliance with relevant employment laws.
  • Monitor legal and regulatory developments relating to employment law, AI, workplace technology, and employee data practices.
  • Develop and deliver guidance, policies, and training for HR, legal, and business stakeholders on employment law and workforce risk matters.
  • Build strong relationships with HR teams, senior leaders, and cross-functional stakeholders across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Contribute to broader legal and governance initiatives, including responsible AI frameworks, contract reviews, and legal process improvement through technology and innovation.

Skills and Qualifications Required:

  • UK-qualified lawyer (or equivalent qualification) with ideally 5+ years’ PQE as a guide.
  • Strong employment law experience, ideally gained across both private practice and in-house environments.
  • Comfortable operating in a role combining UK employment law responsibilities with international and cross-border projects.
  • Experience advising on employment matters involving AI, technology, employee data, or digital workplace tools would be advantageous.
  • Strong analytical skills and sound judgement, particularly in managing evolving legal and regulatory risks.
  • Able to translate complex legal and technical concepts into practical, commercially focused advice for a range of stakeholders.
  • Collaborative, proactive, and confident working across functions, jurisdictions, and cultures, with strong stakeholder management skills.

We are committed to creating an inclusive and supportive recruitment process. Applications will be considered fairly and consistently, regardless of background, and decisions will be based on skills, experience, and suitability for the role. If you require any reasonable adjustments during the recruitment process, support can be provided upon request.
