Commercial / Procurement Lawyer – Locum 6-month contract | Day rate An opportunity has arisen for a Commercial / Procurement Lawyer to join a specialist public sector legal team on a six-month locum contract, offering a competitive day rate.

The role offers exposure to a broad range of commercially focused legal work supporting major public sector organisations and projects of national importance. Matters will span public procurement, commercial contracts, contract drafting and negotiation, grants, subsidy control, competition, intellectual property and data protection.

The successful candidate will provide pragmatic, risk-based legal advice throughout the commercial lifecycle, advising on procurement processes, contract management, dispute avoidance and wider commercial decision-making. The role will also involve working closely with colleagues across legal teams and external counsel where required.

Key requirements:

• Strong commercial and contract law experience, including drafting and negotiation.

• Good working knowledge of public procurement law and experience advising throughout the procurement process.

• An understanding of public law and the wider public sector context.

• Excellent analytical skills, sound commercial judgement and the ability to deliver clear, practical advice.

Experience within the health sector is desirable but not essential.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced commercial lawyer to undertake varied, high-impact work within the public sector on an initial six-month engagement.
