This assignment, lasting between three and six months, provides a unique opportunity to gain exposure to high-profile financial disputes and collaborate with a network of over 300 dedicated lawyers across the United Kingdom.

You will be part of a supportive environment that values your input, encourages growth, and fosters an inclusive culture where every voice matters. With flexible working arrangements and access to multiple office locations, this role is perfect for those who thrive in communal settings and are eager to contribute to meaningful outcomes within the financial services sector.

* Join one of the largest financial services dispute teams in the UK, working on cases for major banks, building societies, international lenders, and fintechs.
* Enjoy flexible working opportunities with ad hoc attendance at any office location, allowing you to balance professional commitments with personal needs.
* Be part of a collaborative culture that values inclusivity, knowledge sharing, and supportive leadership, ensuring you have the resources and encouragement needed to succeed.

What you'll do:

* Investigate and analyse claims by reviewing documentation and preparing draft advices that support solicitors in resolving complex financial disputes.
* Support the handling of customer complaints by investigating issues thoroughly, reviewing relevant materials, and preparing clear responses aligned with regulatory requirements and internal procedures.
* Assist solicitors in preparing trial bundles for court proceedings, ensuring all necessary documents are organised accurately and efficiently.
* Instruct experts as required for casework and carry out initial reviews of expert reports to ensure findings are properly integrated into ongoing matters.
* Draft correspondence for clients and stakeholders, maintaining professionalism and clarity throughout all written communications.
* Review discovery documents received from other parties to identify key information relevant to dispute resolution processes.
* Manage key dates associated with cases, including deadlines for submissions, hearings, and other critical milestones.
* Assist with recording, reporting on, and analysing Management Information (MI) to provide valuable insights into case progress and outcomes.
* Contribute to billing processes by supporting accurate time recording and assisting with invoice preparation for client matters.

What you bring:

* Experience in complaints handling within financial services or similar sectors is highly valued; your ability to investigate issues thoroughly and respond empathetically is essential.
* Excellent communication skills both oral and written are required so you can convey complex information clearly to clients and colleagues alike.
* Accuracy in your work combined with strong organisational skills ensures you can manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.
* Flexibility in adapting to changing priorities allows you to support your team effectively during busy periods or when urgent matters arise.
* Good knowledge of Microsoft Word and Outlook is required; experience using Excel (including basic formulas, vlookup functions, pivot tables/charts) is beneficial but not mandatory.
* Familiarity with PowerPoint or Interwoven document management systems would be advantageous for supporting casework administration.
* Proficient Excel skills such as exporting data between spreadsheets or creating easy-to-read analysis are desirable but not essential for success in this role.
* Ability to manage large volumes of documentation efficiently while maintaining confidentiality demonstrates your dependability as a team member.
* A commitment to collaborative working practices ensures you contribute positively within an inclusive environment focused on shared success.
