Robert Walters is supporting a City of London Head Quartered growing international business at the forefront of the financial services sector. On behalf of our client we are seeking a reward specialist ready to take on their next career challenge. If you're an experienced reward professional looking for an opportunity to shape and influence at the highest level, this role offers unparalleled scope for impact.

This is not just another Head of Reward position,this is your chance to build something extraordinary. With no established framework currently in place, you’ll have full ownership of designing and implementing a best-in-class global reward function from the ground up. Partnering closely with senior leadership, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the organisation’s people agenda during a period of significant growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design & Build: Establish structures, frameworks, and governance for a new Reward function.
  • Global Benchmarking: Lead total reward benchmarking across multiple markets to ensure competitiveness.
  • Compensation Frameworks: Develop base salary structures and job evaluation frameworks.
  • Benefits Harmonisation: Overhaul and align employee benefits globally.
  • Variable Pay Design: Create scalable variable pay frameworks across jurisdictions.
  • Equity & Incentives: Lead on equity and long-term incentive design.
  • Workday Implementation: Ensure reward processes are fit-for-purpose and scalable within Workday systems.
  • Senior Stakeholder Partnership: Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, providing insights on reward trends and best practices.

Experience & Background:

  • Exposure to insurance or adjacent financial services sectors strongly preferred.
  • Proven track record of building or transforming reward functions ideally in both large, established organisations and smaller, less structured environments.
  • Strong experience across compensation, benefits, and incentive design, including leading complex projects.
  • Experience operating as either a Head of Reward or a strong No.2 (ready to step up).

Skills & Attributes:

  • Exceptional leadership capability with the ability to build and shape a function.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, credible at senior levels.
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity and creating frameworks from scratch.
  • Consultative mindset with commercial acumen, balancing big-picture thinking with execution.
  • Able to be onsite in City of London located offices 4 days per week, 1 day WFH
