Structured Products Middle Office

A leading global investment bank is seeking a Structured Products Middle Office Associate to join their London team. This role offers you the opportunity to become an integral part of a highly collaborative and knowledgeable department, supporting complex transactions across Structured Credit & Rates as well as Fixed Income desks.

What you'll do:

• Coordinate and oversee operational activities for both existing deal stock and new business across Structured Credit & Rates front office business lines as well as other Fixed Income desks.
• Ensure accurate booking of complex transactions and proper processing of all life cycle events within the Structured Products Middle Office portfolio.
• Facilitate the deployment of a robust operational control environment by monitoring transaction workflows from Front Office to Post Trade systems.
• Validate trade representation in accordance with legal documentation terms, ensuring all records are adequately stored and controlled throughout the transaction lifetime.
• Resolve breaks across controls performed within agreed targets or service level agreements, tracking root causes and contributing to a healthy control environment.
• Recommend improvements in operational practices based on best practice standards, leveraging detailed knowledge of operational principles and processes.
• Analyse alignment between client needs and operational set-up to deliver efficient service while maintaining high standards of accuracy and compliance.
• Report key performance indicators (KPIs) and key risk indicators (KRIs) regularly to management, reviewing them frequently and contributing to action plans for remediation where necessary.
• Act as point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, managing communication channels with business line managers and coordinating with other operations teams.
• Lead approach on critical issues requiring higher-level analysis or experience, providing specialist guidance and advice to ensure effective resolution.

What you bring:

• Material experience working in control functions within an investment bank is essential for this role.
• In-depth knowledge of financial instruments including fixed income, equities credit, rates, FX & structured products is required.
• Proven theoretical and practical understanding of front-to-back chains within Structured Products Middle Office perimeters is highly desirable.
• Strong working knowledge of operational risk management frameworks and permanent control environments is expected.
• Ability to translate detailed operational principles into actionable recommendations for improving practices is important.
• Excellent time management skills with the capacity to prioritise workload effectively under pressure are vital.
• Advanced computer literacy with proficiency in relevant software applications is necessary for daily tasks.
• Exceptional analytical skills enabling translation of technical concepts into clear guidance for others are crucial.
• Outstanding written and oral communication skills allowing articulation of complex issues simply across the business are required.
• Demonstrated interpersonal skills with proven stakeholder management abilities are essential for building collaborative relationships.
