ASSISTANT VICE PRESIDENT- EQUITY DERIVATIVES TRADE SUPPORT

An exceptional opportunity has arisen for an experienced professional to join a leading global financial institution as an Assistant Vice President in Equity Derivatives Trade Support. This pivotal role offers you the chance to work at the heart of the equity derivatives business, supporting both structured products and vanilla options across their full trade lifecycle. You will be instrumental in driving operational excellence, process re-engineering, and risk management initiatives that align with the organisation’s global objectives.
What you'll do:
* Oversee the complete trade lifecycle for equity derivatives, managing post-trade amendments for both structured products and vanilla options while maintaining rigorous process controls.
* Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of operational processes and alignment with global market operations objectives.
* Identify areas for operational improvement by analysing current workflows and recommending enhancements that support efficiency and risk mitigation.
* Develop, implement, and monitor operational procedures and controls designed to reduce risk exposure and uphold high standards of governance.
* Prepare detailed reports and presentations on operational performance metrics, communicating findings effectively to internal senior stakeholders.
* Stay abreast of industry trends and regulatory developments to ensure adoption of best practices within banking operations.
* Participate actively in projects aimed at improving operational effectiveness, including automation initiatives and process re-engineering assignments.
* Advise on complex issues by providing expert guidance to colleagues and people leaders, supporting resolution of escalated matters.
* Coach team members or guide collaborative assignments by setting clear objectives, offering feedback, and fostering an environment conducive to professional growth.
* Take ownership for managing risk within your area of responsibility by strengthening controls and developing new policies or procedures as needed.
What you bring:
* Demonstrable technical background in equity derivatives with deep understanding of structured products as well as vanilla options trade capture processes.
* Comprehensive knowledge of risk management principles including risk assessment, PnL impacts analysis, and effective control frameworks within financial markets operations.
* Exceptional attention to detail combined with a proactive check-and-challenge mindset that ensures accuracy across all aspects of trade support activities.
* Proven time management abilities enabling you to prioritise tasks efficiently while meeting tight deadlines in a dynamic environment.
* Outstanding interpersonal skills allowing you to build rapport with stakeholders at all levels- both internally across teams and externally where required.
* Clear communication skills particularly when presenting complex information or engaging with senior audiences during control forums or project updates.
* Experience implementing automation solutions or leveraging advanced Excel capabilities to streamline processes or improve data validation outcomes.
* Track record of participating in change management or process optimisation projects within banking or financial services environments.
* Ability to consult on complex issues by providing thoughtful advice that supports decision-making among people leaders or project sponsors.
