Senior Manager – Transaction Services
A leading organisation in London is seeking a Senior Manager – Transaction Services to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of their transactional finance operations. This newly created position offers you the opportunity to lead and nurture both Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable teams, uniting them into a cohesive and high-performing transactional services function.
This is a key new role responsible for bringing together Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable teams into a unified transactional services function, offering you the chance to shape processes and drive performance improvements across the business.
As Senior Manager – Transaction Services based in London, you will be at the heart of transforming transnational finance operations. Your daily responsibilities will centre around leading two critical teams, Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable guiding them through change as they merge into one cohesive unit. You will set clear goals for your team members while nurturing their growth through mentoring and coaching. Operational excellence will be achieved by overseeing all AP/AR activities with precision; from ensuring accurate processing to maintaining compliance standards.
- Lead and develop the Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) teams comprising 14 full-time employees including four direct reports and some offshore resources, setting clear objectives while providing guidance, mentor ship, and coaching.
- Take ownership of day-to-day delivery of AP and AR processes by ensuring accuracy, timeliness, compliance, and maintaining a strong internal/external customer experience.
- Drive cash and working capital performance through improved billing discipline, reduced dispute cycle times, and enhanced collections effectiveness.
- Manage the operational finance KPI suite and reporting cadence by delivering clear dashboards, packs, and actionable insights for senior stakeholders.
- Utilise KPI insight and root-cause analysis to prioritise and implement continuous improvement initiatives such as standardisation, automation, and control enhancements.
- Ensure robust controls and audit readiness across AP/AR functions including segregation of duties, approvals, reconciliations, exception management, and documentation.
- Act as escalation point for complex supplier, customer, process, or systems issues by ensuring timely resolution and effective communication.
- Partner with Procurement teams, budget holders, asset management groups, and operational departments to improve internal customer service delivery.
- Collaborate with IT teams particularly on system usage improvements through programmes like Yardi Improvement to enhance automation within finance operations.
- Perform additional finance tasks as required to support the wider team’s objectives.
What you bring:
In the Senior Manager – Transaction Services role you will bring extensive experience leading AP/AR functions within large-scale organisations. Your proven ability to deliver tangible improvements in process efficiency sets you apart as someone who can drive change without compromising quality or compliance. You possess strong interpersonal skills that enable you to coach others effectively while building trust among team members. Your deep understanding of financial operations including working capital optimisation means you can quickly identify levers for improvement whether it’s streamlining billing cycles or enhancing collections procedures. Analytical prowess allows you to create meaningful KPI dashboards that inform decision-making at senior levels. Communication comes naturally; you’re able to connect with stakeholders across departments ensuring everyone is aligned towards shared goals. Integrity underpins everything you do from maintaining robust controls for audits to documenting processes meticulously. Technological fluency ensures you’re comfortable navigating finance systems or implementing automation solutions when needed. Above all else your collaborative spirit drives positive outcomes through teamwork rather than individual effort.
- Proven track record in leading Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) teams within complex organisations where you have delivered measurable improvements in service quality, control frameworks, and overall performance.
- Experience within the real estate industry is highly desirable but not essential; your ability to adapt previous sector knowledge will be valued.
- Exceptional people leadership skills demonstrated through coaching, mentoring, building engaged teams that consistently achieve high performance outcomes.
- Deep understanding of working capital drivers coupled with practical experience improving cash conversion via billing timeliness, dispute management strategies or collections effectiveness.
- Advanced capability in managing KPIs/Management Information (MI), including building operational reporting suites that provide clear insights for senior stakeholders.
- Excellent stakeholder management abilities combined with strong communication skills enabling you to influence across Finance departments as well as Procurement or operational teams.
- High integrity paired with strong control awareness allowing you to operate confidently in audit-conscious environments supported by well-documented processes.
- Systems mindset with confidence using finance systems or reporting tools; experience with Yardi is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Curious approach to problem-solving where you apply past experiences creatively to challenge existing practices in pursuit of higher performance standards.
- Collaborative attitude towards working across multiple teams fostering positive relationships while driving cross-functional cooperation.
