Management Accountant

Responsibilities:

• Support the month-end close process by ensuring accurate and timely reporting for both statutory and management accounts.
• Perform detailed variance analysis each month to highlight risks and opportunities while investigating underlying reasons for these variances.
• Lead churn reporting activities and manage the quarterly sales commission process with precision and clarity.
• Handle journal posting duties including accruals and prepayments to maintain robust financial records.
• Prepare thorough balance sheet reconciliations and proactively clear up aged items to ensure accuracy.
• Assist external regulatory compliance processes in audit and tax by facilitating information flow and resolving queries efficiently.
• Engage with functions outside of finance such as Operations and Sales to gain valuable insight into business trends.
• Support ongoing process improvements aimed at enhancing efficiency, accuracy, and automation across all finance operations.
• Collaborate closely with colleagues within the department as well as other functions to foster teamwork and shared success.
• Take responsibility for managing your own workload effectively while meeting tight deadlines.

Ideal candidate:

• Part-qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent qualification demonstrating commitment to professional development.
• Proven experience in management accounting roles or as an assistant accountant within service revenue generative businesses.
• Advanced Excel skills including vlookup, index functions, pivot tables, enabling efficient data analysis.
• Experience using Sage Intacct or similar accounting software is highly desirable for seamless integration into existing systems.
• Ability to be proactive with a hands-on approach when solving problems within financial processes.
• Adaptable mindset allowing you to excel in fast-paced environments while maintaining high standards of accuracy.
