Management Accountant
This role involves managing financial systems, preparing management accounts, handling reconciliations, and supporting various operational and strategic finance tasks. The ideal candidate will be experienced using Dynamics and have the ability to work across multiple entities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for the financial system (Microsoft Dynamics).
- Ensure all financial data for special purpose vehicles (SPVs) is accurately recorded and coded in Microsoft Dynamics.
- Maintain organised records throughout the year to support the year-end audit process.
- Prepare quarterly management accounts following month-end procedures for operating entities.
- Develop an understanding of consolidation processes and how SPVs integrate within the overall structure.
- Act as the main contact for auditors during the year-end process.
- File and maintain records to ensure compliance with audit requirements.
- Complete balance sheet reconciliations, including foreign exchange revaluations and intercompany transactions.
- Calculate loan note interest and prepare statements for external shareholders.
- Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable (including low-volume credit control), and bank reconciliations across multiple companies.
- Maintain fixed asset registers, prepayments, and accruals.
- Process payment runs, payroll, pensions, and childcare vouchers.
- Analyse financial performance and short-term cash flows to provide actionable insights.
- Prepare VAT filings for UK and US subsidiaries.
- Monitor short-term cash flow and recommend strategies for cost optimisation.
- Collaborate with senior finance leadership on projects such as contract renewals, insurance renewals, production accounting, budgeting, and reforecasting.
- Strong technical accounting knowledge with experience in preparing management accounts and reconciliations.
- Proficiency in using financial systems such as Microsoft Dynamics or similar platforms.
- Understanding of consolidation processes across multiple entities is advantageous.
- Experience with VAT filings in both UK and US jurisdictions is preferred.
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
- Ability to analyse financial performance and provide recommendations for cost-saving strategies.
- Strong communication skills for liaising with auditors, external stakeholders, and internal teams.
