Group Financial Accountant

A leading global organisation in Liverpool is seeking a Group Accountant to join their External Reporting team, where your expertise will be instrumental in delivering compliant, timely, and insightful financial reporting. This role is being recruited on both a 12m FTC and permanant basis.

What you'll do:

• Consolidate and validate externally reported financial data for the UK&I region, ensuring robust controls at every stage of consolidation and compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations.
• Prepare timely IFRS financial reports for inclusion in group financial statements as well as solo entity submissions, maintaining accuracy and completeness throughout.
• Support the preparation of analytical reviews for reporting, offering valuable insights into financial performance.
• Assist in producing Audit Committee papers and specialist accounting assessments, contributing to high-quality governance processes.
• Deliver statutory, regulatory, and statistical returns as required by various authorities, ensuring all submissions meet strict compliance criteria.
• Communicate effectively with business and finance colleagues to gather data, investigate issues or opportunities, maintain alignment, and share information across teams.
• Gather, validate, and compile quantitative and qualitative information from multiple internal or external sources to ensure comprehensive reporting.
• Help develop consistent and compliant data models across all reporting responsibilities, supporting organisational integrity in financial disclosures.
• Support external audits of statutory and regulatory reporting deliverables by providing accurate documentation and responding promptly to audit queries.
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders across the organisation to foster trust, collaboration, and shared understanding.

What you bring:

• Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent)
• Ability to interpret IFRS requirements as well as regulatory reporting obligations.
• Excellent written communication skills enabling clear presentation of complex financial information to diverse audiences.
• Confidence in investigating disparate sources of data.
• Effective stakeholder management skills demonstrated through influencing others positively within cross-functional teams.
• Performance-focused mindset combined with customer orientation; ability to build rapport with a wide range of stakeholders across business units.
• Experience supporting external audits by preparing documentation accurately and responding thoughtfully to auditor requests.
• Proven track record of compiling quantitative and qualitative information from multiple sources for comprehensive financial analysis.
• Commitment to upholding FCA Conduct Rules through responsible behaviour that consistently delivers good customer outcomes.
• Ability to develop consistent data models that support reliable reporting practices across multiple responsibilities.
