Interim Finance Business Partner

We are seeking an experienced Interim Operational Finance Business Partner to join an organisation undergoing exciting growth and transformation. Working closely with senior stakeholders, you will provide commercial insight, challenge decision-making and drive financial and operational performance. This is a great opportunity to make a real impact, identifying efficiencies and adding value. The role is based on-site 4 days per week.

You will act as the finance lead for a portfolio of operational areas, providing commercial insight and financial guidance to support business performance and strategic decision-making.

Responsibilities will include budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, business case development and performance analysis, while ensuring strong financial controls and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with senior stakeholders and operational teams to provide financial insight and support decision-making.
• Challenge and influence business leaders to improve efficiency, manage costs and maximise value.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting and financial planning across allocated areas.
• Deliver accurate financial reporting, highlighting trends, variances and performance drivers.
• Identify financial risks and opportunities, recommending appropriate actions.
• Support investment decisions, capital expenditure appraisals and business case development.
• Improve management reporting through dashboards, automation and reporting tools.
• Work with budget holders to strengthen financial accountability and ownership.
• Support month-end reporting and ensure compliance with financial controls and governance.
• Drive continuous improvement across finance processes and systems.

About You

You will be a commercially astute finance professional with strong business partnering experience and the confidence to influence stakeholders at all levels.

You will combine excellent technical finance skills with strong communication, analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Essential Experience & Qualifications

• Fully qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA or equivalent).
• Significant experience in Finance Business Partnering, Commercial Finance or Operational Finance.
• Proven ability to build relationships and influence senior stakeholders.
• Strong budgeting, forecasting and financial planning experience.
• Excellent analytical skills and the ability to translate financial data into meaningful business insights.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Advanced Excel skills, including financial modelling and reporting.
• Experience working in fast-paced, performance-driven environments.

Desirable Experience

• Experience with Adaptive Planning, Power BI or similar tools.
• Background supporting large-scale operational or regulated environments.
• Experience driving process improvements and enhancing financial reporting.
