Interim FP&A - Senior Manager

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Interim Financial Planning and Analysis Senior Manager to join a leading organisation based in Birmingham. • Collaborate closely with the Chief Financial Officer to provide comprehensive financial planning and analysis support across all business units.
• Partner with key stakeholders throughout various departments to understand expenditure patterns and identify areas for cost optimisation.
• Conduct detailed reviews of divisional spending, focusing on uncovering root causes of expenditure and recommending actionable solutions.
• Lead initiatives aimed at managing and reducing costs, particularly within Selling, General & Administrative (SG&A) expenses, ensuring alignment with organisational objectives.
• Prepare insightful financial reports and presentations that clearly communicate findings, trends, and recommendations to both finance and non-finance audiences.
• Support commercial finance activities by delivering robust analysis that informs pricing strategies, investment decisions, and resource allocation.
• Develop effective business partnering relationships that foster open communication, trust, and shared understanding of financial goals.
• Utilise advanced analytical techniques to interpret complex data sets, providing clarity on performance drivers and highlighting opportunities for improvement.
• Contribute to cross-functional projects designed to enhance operational efficiency and promote best practices in financial management.
• Champion a culture of continuous improvement by identifying process enhancements within FP&A activities and supporting their implementation.

What you bring

• You are fully qualified as an accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA), bringing a solid foundation of technical expertise to the role.
• You have demonstrable experience in Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), ideally gained within large or complex organisations.
• Your background includes hands-on involvement in cost management projects, particularly those focused on SG&A expenditure reduction.
• You possess excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret large volumes of data and extract meaningful insights for diverse audiences.
• Your interpersonal skills enable you to build trusted relationships with stakeholders at all levels, fostering collaboration across departments.
• You are adept at preparing clear financial reports and presenting findings in a way that resonates with both finance professionals and non-specialists.
• Your approach is proactive; you seek out opportunities for process improvement within FP&A functions and contribute positively to change initiatives.
• You demonstrate resilience under pressure while maintaining accuracy in your work during periods of high demand or tight deadlines.
