What you'll do:
As a Finance Business Partner based in Cheshunt, you will play a crucial role within the Commercial Finance team by providing proactive financial support for commercial activities. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve collaborating closely with commercial teams to ensure accurate reporting, budgeting, and forecasting processes that drive strategic planning. You will analyse contract results from a financial viewpoint, conduct investment appraisals for senior management consideration, and deliver timely advice to stakeholders. Additionally, you will assess contract structures for compliance with accounting standards such as IFRS 15, monitor costs for efficiency gains, identify tax impacts of unusual contracts, perform due diligence on external partners, and support both statutory and client audits. Success in this role requires building strong relationships across departments while maintaining high standards of accuracy and integrity in all financial matters.
- Support commercial teams by providing accurate reporting, budgeting, and forecasting processes that underpin strategic planning initiatives.
- Analyse reported contract results from a financial perspective to ensure completeness and accuracy while offering constructive feedback.
- Conduct thorough investment appraisals and present recommendations to senior management to guide decision-making.
- Deliver timely, high-quality information, advice, and support to key internal stakeholders across finance and commercial departments.
- Monitor costs including central recharges, identify areas for savings or efficiencies, and implement processes to achieve these improvements.
- Identify and assess the accounting and tax impacts of unusual contracts, ensuring proper setup and operation with appropriate financial controls.
- Perform contract impact assessments related to changes in tax legislation such as IR35 or DRC, developing processes to minimise negative impacts while maintaining compliance.
- Support statutory audit requirements as well as client audit needs by preparing relevant documentation and facilitating positive relationships.

The ideal candidate for the Finance Business Partner role will bring proven experience as a qualified accountant (ACA), supported by strong academic credentials including a 2.1 degree.
