Finance Manager

This is a 15 Month Contract Finance Manager role with a proffesional services client. The ideal candidate combines strong accounting fundamentals with commercial judgement, financial modelling and stakeholder management.

This role will act as the finance lead for significant transformation projects and will be responsible for all aspects of the financial reporting, accounting, cashflow, analysis, finance processes and controls.

Essential experience and skills

• ACA or ACCA qualified, ideally with an audit background and strong technical accounting knowledge.
• Approximately 3–5 years of relevant experience, including 2–3 years in a management accounting role.
• Strong month-end and year-end experience.
• Experience with project expenditure, budgeting, forecasting and stakeholder management
• Understanding of financial year-end processes and project accounting.
• Experience reviewing business cases and assessing financial implications.
• Strong Excel skills, including financial modelling and scenario analysis.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the intermediary between Finance, Technology, Data, Business Change and project governance bodies.
• Support project approval boards by reviewing business cases, prioritising investment and monitoring project expenditure and ROI.
• Prepare and review financial models, forecasts, budgets and scenario analysis.
• Track actual spend against budget and manage reforecasting.
• Provide financial guidance on project expenditure, including capital versus revenue classification.
• Ensure project costs are correctly accounted for in the books.
• Review supplier set-up, tax implications, statutory recharging and intercompany cost allocations.
• Ensure financial controls are maintained throughout the project lifecycle.
