An exciting opportunity awaits for an experienced Payroll Manager to take the helm of payroll operations across a diverse EMEA landscape, supporting employees in 19 countries and multiple legal entities. As Payroll Manager based in Manchester City Centre, you will play a pivotal role in leading complex international payroll operations across multiple countries. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve managing relationships with both internal teams and external partners to ensure seamless payroll delivery. You will be responsible for overseeing the entire monthly payroll cycle—from data collection through validation—while maintaining strict compliance with local regulations. Your expertise will be crucial in identifying areas for process improvement and implementing solutions that drive operational excellence.
Key duties include:
- Oversee the end-to-end monthly payroll process for employees across 19 European countries including the UK, Spain, Greece, Bulgaria and more, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
- Build dependable partnerships with People Capabilities teams, Finance departments, In-Country Partners and external payroll providers to facilitate smooth payroll operations and resolve issues promptly.
- Act as the primary contact for outsourced payroll providers such as ADP, managing service delivery standards and ensuring all payroll activities are completed on schedule.
- Coordinate closely with internal PSC teams to manage employee lifecycle changes and address payroll-related queries efficiently.
- Collaborate with In-Country Partners to maintain compliance with local legislation, regulatory requirements and best practice in payroll management.
- Oversee production, review and verification of payroll data and payslips for more than 500 employees across the region.
- Validate outputs from ADP Celergo platform and support balance sheet reconciliations related to payroll activities.
- Monitor payroll controls rigorously to identify risks and implement improvements that enhance accuracy, compliance and operational efficiency.
- Support regional finance initiatives as an active member of the Regional Finance Leadership Team by contributing insights into broader business strategies.
Your extensive experience as a Payroll Manager equips you to navigate the complexities of international payroll operations across EMEA. You bring deep understanding of legislative requirements in various jurisdictions along with hands-on expertise using global platforms like ADP Celergo. Your interpersonal skills enable you to build dependable relationships with colleagues from finance, people capabilities teams, in-country partners and external providers.
You should have experience in the following areas:
- Significant experience managing payroll operations across the EMEA region with proven ability to handle complex multi-country environments.
- Demonstrated track record of leading payroll processes involving multiple legal entities, providers and regulatory frameworks.
- Experience working effectively with outsourced payroll providers such as ADP Celergo or similar global platforms.
- Strong knowledge of UK and European payroll legislation including compliance requirements relevant to each jurisdiction.
- Background in managing payroll within Shared Service Centre environments where collaboration is key.
- Excellent analytical skills paired with a structured approach to problem-solving for identifying issues quickly.
- Proven ability to drive change through process improvement initiatives that enhance operational excellence.
