My client, a leading UK logistics giant, are looking to hire an experienced R2R Manager to join their brand new head office in Warrington.

This pivotal role is perfect for someone who thrives on delivering excellence in financial accounting and reporting across a complex, multi-entity group structure.

You will play a crucial part in shaping the future of the finance operations centre by driving standardisation, process development, and continuous improvement within a newly established shared services environment.

  • Oversee the preparation and approval of complex journals including accruals, prepayments, payroll entries, intercompany transactions, provisions, and other intricate adjustments prepared by junior team members.
  • Provide expert guidance on technical accounting matters such as revenue recognition, leases, fixed assets management, impairments, and provisions while supporting the implementation of new accounting standards.
  • Ensure balance sheet integrity through rigorous review of reconciliations and proactive resolution of aged or high-risk items across all supported entities.
  • Supervise intercompany accounting processes including reconciliations and settlements while maintaining consistent application of group accounting policies throughout the Record to Report cycle.
  • Review entity-level trial balances and reporting packs; manage statutory account preparation in coordination with auditors and advisors while acting as a key contact for audit deliverables.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop junior members of the R2R team by providing constructive feedback, leading onboarding efforts, facilitating training sessions, and supporting performance management discussions.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities for process standardisation, automation, efficiency gains, and supporting finance transformation projects including system implementations.
  • Maintain robust internal control frameworks by reviewing compliance with governance requirements; address control deficiencies or audit findings promptly while promoting risk awareness.
  • Collaborate closely with Finance Business Partners, Group Finance teams, AP/AR/Treasury/Tax/FP&A colleagues to ensure seamless end-to-end financial accuracy and resolve complex issues professionally.

What you bring:

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent) or qualified by experience with substantial post-qualification experience in similar roles within industry or shared services environments.
  • Extensive hands-on experience in Record to Report processes including financial accounting or controllership responsibilities across multi-entity organisations.
  • In-depth technical knowledge of IFRS and UK GAAP with proven ability to interpret complex accounting standards and apply them effectively within business contexts.
  • Demonstrated track record in managing month-end close cycles as well as performing detailed balance sheet reconciliations for large-scale operations.
  • Experience supervising junior finance professionals including reviewing their work outputs, providing coaching support, conducting performance reviews, and leading training initiatives.
  • Proficiency in using SAP systems (preferably S4 HANA) or similar ERP platforms for financial reporting purposes within fast-evolving environments.
  • Strong interpersonal skills enabling effective collaboration with cross-functional teams such as Accounts Payable/Receivable/Treasury/Tax/FP&A departments.
  • Excellent organisational abilities allowing you to manage competing priorities while delivering high-quality results under tight deadlines during busy reporting periods.
  • A proactive approach towards identifying process improvement opportunities coupled with experience supporting finance transformation projects or system migrations.
  • Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly both verbally and in writing when interacting with senior stakeholders or external auditors.
