What you'll do:
- Lead the month-end close process by ensuring accurate and timely reporting for both statutory and management accounts across the finance function.
- Maintain key internal controls such as balance sheet reconciliations, intercompany matrix management, and fixed asset registers to ensure compliance and integrity of financial data.
- Act as a business partner with operations and sales teams on change management initiatives by providing insightful analysis into the financial impact of proposals.
- Support external regulatory compliance processes during audit and tax cycles by managing information flow and resolving queries efficiently.
- Drive process improvements within the finance department to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and automation of workflows.
- Provide ad-hoc financial insights and analysis that contribute to decision making and add value across various business units.
- Delegate tasks effectively among your team of management accountants while reviewing outputs for quality assurance.
- Translate complex financial data into actionable insights for stakeholders throughout the organisation.
- Manage external audits and statutory reporting processes by coordinating documentation and liaising with auditors.
- Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to implement best practices in financial operations.
What you bring:
- ACCA/ACA/CIMA or equivalent qualification demonstrating commitment to professional standards in finance.
- At least five years’ experience in financial operations or management reporting within a service revenue generative business environment.
- Expereicene within a Tech, SaaS, Software or IT Services business would be highly beneficial
- Proven ability to produce accurate management and statutory accounts under tight deadlines while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong delegation skills combined with effective review techniques to ensure team performance remains high during busy periods such as month-end or audit cycles.
- Experience translating complex financial data into actionable insight for non-financial stakeholders across the organisation.
- Demonstrated track record of managing external audits and statutory reporting processes including coordination of documentation and resolution of queries.
- Ability to drive process improvements and automation initiatives within finance using advanced Excel skills (vlookup, index, pivot tables etc.).
- Adaptability in fast-paced environments coupled with a hands-on approach to problem solving when challenges arise.
- Self-motivated attitude with excellent attention to detail ensuring accuracy in all aspects of financial reporting.
- Experience using Sage Intacct is highly desirable but not essential.
