Finance Manager
A leading organisation in Derby is seeking an Interim Finance Manager for 9-12 months to support financial reporting, controls, and business performance. This is a great opportunity for a qualified finance professional who enjoys partnering with operational teams, driving process improvements, and influencing key business decisions within a collaborative environment. The role offers flexible working, ongoing development, and requires office presence 4 days per week.
Key Responsibilities
As Interim Finance Manager, you will play a key role in overseeing financial control and reporting across the business. Responsibilities include:
- Managing the month-end close process and internal financial reporting
- Ensuring compliance with accounting standards, group policies, and statutory requirements
- Overseeing VAT returns across the UK, Northern Ireland, and Republic of Ireland
- Maintaining and improving financial controls and governance processes
- Partnering with operational managers to support performance and cost control initiatives
- Managing working capital areas including receivables, payables, accruals, and VAT balances
- Identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency and data quality
- Supporting audit requirements and regulatory compliance
- Acting as a key finance contact across departments, providing commercial and operational support
About You
To succeed in this role, you will ideally be:
- ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified (or qualified by experience)
- Experienced in financial control, reporting, and VAT compliance
- Confident managing month-end processes and meeting critical deadlines
- Skilled in analysing financial data and communicating insights clearly
- Comfortable working across multiple stakeholders and departments
- Experienced within a multi-entity or group environment
- Proficient with ERP and reporting systems
- Able to demonstrate process improvement and change management experience
- A supportive team player with strong organisational and interpersonal skills
