As a Cash and Banking Team Leader, you will play an integral part in ensuring that all cashiering operations are executed with precision while upholding rigorous standards of compliance. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve leading your team through complex tasks, offering mentorship and support as needed.
Specific duties include:
- Lead, support, and develop the Cashiering team by managing workloads effectively, setting clear priorities, and maintaining consistently high standards across all activities.
- Act as the first point of escalation for complex queries within the team, providing guidance, coaching, and conducting regular performance reviews to foster ongoing development.
- Oversee core cashiering operations including accurate processing of client and office transactions while ensuring strict adherence to SRA Accounts Rules and internal controls.
- Maintain oversight of banking activities, reconciliations, and cashflow management to ensure robust financial control throughout all processes.
- Collaborate closely with Finance, Legal Operations, and wider business teams to contribute to audits and support month-end and year-end financial processes.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements by reviewing systems and controls regularly, driving efficiency gains across the department.
- Support system implementations or upgrades by sharing expertise and facilitating smooth transitions for the team.
To excel as a Cash and Banking Team Leader, you will bring substantial experience from legal cashiering or banking environments where regulatory compliance is paramount. Your background should reflect not only technical proficiency but also strong interpersonal skills—enabling you to guide your team through challenges with empathy and clarity.
Ideally you will have experience in the following areas:
- Demonstrate experience within a Legal Cashiering or Banking environment that showcases your understanding of industry-specific challenges.
- Experience of managing a cash & banking team
- Previous experience leading or mentoring a team where you have supported colleagues’ growth and managed performance effectively.
- Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail when handling high-volume financial transactions or reconciliations.
- Confident stakeholder management skills enabling you to communicate clearly with colleagues at all levels across different departments.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications alongside good general systems knowledge relevant to finance operations.
- Experience working within a large volume environment is desirable as it demonstrates adaptability in large-scale settings.
