A specialist financial services business is looking to appoint a Corporate Credit Manager to join its established credit function.
The Credit Manager role
This is a hands-on role where you will take ownership of audits end-to-end, working closely with senior stakeholders to strengthen controls, challenge risk frameworks, and drive continuous improvement across the business.
Key Responsibilities for the Credit Manager role
- Assess the credit of new and existing corporate clients
- Analyse financial statements and produce detailed credit assessments
- Prepare credit papers for senior approval forums
- Review and approve credit applications within delegated authority levels
- Ensure adherence to internal underwriting standards and policies
- Monitor customer performance and respond to emerging credit risks
- Maintain accurate and audit-ready customer records and documentation
- Support ongoing compliance requirements
- Collaborate with commercial and operational teams on live deals
- Contribute to risk discussions, planning cycles, and portfolio reviews
- Produce regular and ad hoc reporting for senior stakeholders
What you will bring to the Credit Manager role
- Proven experience in a corporate credit or lending environment
- Strong ability to interpret financial data and assess risk exposure
- Experience writing and presenting credit papers
- Exposure to operating with a personal underwriting mandate
- Confident decision-maker with the ability to challenge where required
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail
