Finance Business Partner

We’re looking for a commercially minded Finance Business Partner to join a fast-paced, technically complex organisation in Northampton at the forefront of engineering, technology and performance. You’ll partner with senior stakeholders across engineering, operations and commercial functions, turning financial and operational data into insight, challenging decisions and improving forecasting, governance and investment. A strong interest in data, automation and AI is hugely beneficial!

What you'll do

• Partner with senior leaders and budget holders to understand performance, risks, opportunities and financial priorities.
• Translate complex financial and operational data into clear, actionable commercial insight.
• Use analytics, automation and AI-enabled tools to improve efficiency, insight and decision-making.
• Lead reviews of actuals, budgets, forecasts, KPIs and cost positions.
• Investigate variances, identify underlying drivers and agree corrective actions.
• Constructively challenge business cases, assumptions, investment decisions and delivery plans.
• Support annual budgeting, long-range planning and rolling forecasts.
• Build and maintain financial models covering programmes, projects, headcount, investment and operating costs.
• Provide scenario analysis and commercial insight to support strategic and operational decisions.
• Partner with technical and programme teams to connect delivery progress with financial performance.
• Strengthen financial governance, accountability and cost control across key programmes.
• Identify opportunities to automate, simplify and improve finance processes and management information.

What you'll bring

• Fully qualified CIMA or ACCA accountant with current professional qualification status.
• Proven experience in finance business partnering, commercial finance, management accounting or FP&A.
• Strong budgeting, forecasting, management reporting and variance analysis experience.
• Demonstrable experience using AI as a finance and business productivity tool, with appropriate human review and professional judgement.
• Excellent financial modelling, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Confidence communicating complex financial and operational issues to non-finance stakeholders.
• Experience influencing stakeholders, constructively challenging assumptions and driving actions through to completion.
• Advanced Excel skills and confidence working with finance systems and data.
• Strong commercial awareness, attention to detail and financial governance.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, technically complex and deadline-driven environment.
• A proactive, collaborative and solutions-focused approach.
