What you'll do:
As Financial Controller, you will play an integral role in ensuring the smooth operation of all financial processes within this established business. Your day-to-day responsibilities will see you collaborating closely with senior leaders to provide high-quality financial insights that drive informed decision-making. You will take charge of critical functions such as management accounts preparation, budgeting cycles, audit coordination, taxation compliance, and banking administration. - Lead the monthly management accounts process by preparing accurate reports and providing insightful commentary to the Finance Director to inform strategic decisions.
- Prepare comprehensive Board reports and deliver ad-hoc recommendations tailored for senior leadership to support effective governance.
- Manage the annual budgeting cycle from planning through execution, ensuring all stakeholders are engaged and deadlines are met efficiently.
- Oversee the external audit process by liaising with auditors, coordinating internal resources, and ensuring timely completion of all requirements.
- Handle all aspects of taxation including VAT, CIS, and Income Tax compliance.
- Implement robust financial controls across the finance function to ensure strong governance and mitigate risk throughout all operations.
- Mentor and develop members of the finance team by setting clear objectives, providing regular feedback, and supporting their ongoing professional development.
- Oversee banking compliance by managing facility covenant reporting and acting as a key bank administrator alongside the Finance Director.
- Take responsibility for treasury management by monitoring cash flow, responding to ad-hoc finance queries, and maintaining banking relationships.
- Support charitable activities within the organisation by overseeing annual reporting processes and ensuring accurate distribution of funds.
