Assistant Management Accountant
Our client is in need of an Assistant Management Accountant to join their organisation. This role is hybrid, and paying £35,000 per annum.
What you'll do:
- You will handle core accounting tasks such as preparing journals, accruals, and prepayments with accuracy and attention to detail.
- You will play an integral part in driving budget setting processes and forecasting activities across the Property Investment area.
- You will hold monthly budget monitoring meetings with key business managers, supporting them in effective financial decision-making.
- You will analyse financial information to ensure robust budget management and provide clear insights for stakeholders.
- You will collaborate closely with colleagues across the wider finance function, sharing knowledge and supporting communal goals.
- You will contribute to the achievement of modern living housing targets by providing dependable financial support to property investment initiatives.
- You will utilise practical Excel skills (including VLOOKUPs, SUMIFs, Pivot Tables) to manage data efficiently and present findings clearly.
- You will participate in cross-team opportunities that broaden your understanding of commercial finance operations.
- You will engage with professional coaching sessions and leadership development programmes offered by the organisation.
- You will adapt to increased office presence during busy periods such as month-end, demonstrating flexibility and commitment.
What you bring:
- Qualified or part-qualified in a recognised professional accounting qualification such as ACMA, ACCA or ACA is required for this role.
- Experience of working within a large or complex organisation where you have prepared journals, budgets, and forecasts is highly desirable.
- Practical proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including VLOOKUPs, SUMIFs, Pivot Tables) within an accounting or finance context is essential.
- Ability to analyse financial information accurately and communicate findings effectively with stakeholders is important for success.
- Experience meeting with budget holders or business managers is advantageous; however, support is available if you are developing these skills.
- A collaborative approach that values teamwork and knowledge-sharing across departments is expected.
- Strong interpersonal skills that enable you to build positive relationships with colleagues at all levels are necessary.
- A commitment to ongoing learning and professional development is encouraged by the organisation's supportive culture.
- Flexibility to work from the office at least three days per week (with more during peak periods) demonstrates reliability and adaptability.
