Credit Analyst

Credit Analyst Location: Bolton (Hybrid) Salary: £35,000–£38,000

About the Role

We are looking for a proactive and analytical Credit Analyst to join a growing finance team in Bolton. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in credit control and credit risk management to develop their career while supporting cash collection, minimising risk and improving processes.

Working closely with the Credit Manager and wider finance team, you will play a key role in managing customer accounts and maintaining effective credit management procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor new customer accounts and set appropriate credit limits.
• Assess and manage credit risk and security requirements.
• Identify high-risk accounts and escalate concerns where necessary.
• Manage a portfolio of accounts, proactively chasing overdue debt.
• Analyse aged debt and drive improvements in collection performance.
• Maintain accurate records of customer communications and payment promises.
• Prepare monthly reconciliations, bad debt provisions and reports.
• Resolve account queries and support credit management projects.
• Build strong relationships with customers and internal stakeholders.
• Provide support to the wider Credit Control team when required.

About You

• Previous experience in Credit Control and credit risk management.
• Strong Excel, analytical and numerical skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good communication, negotiation and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with accounting systems; SAP knowledge is advantageous.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
