A leading real estate business is seeking a Senior Credit Controller to join their dynamic finance team in London. This is an exceptional opportunity for you to play a pivotal role in shaping and enhancing credit control processes during a period of significant transformation within the organisation. The company is renowned for its commitment to creating inspiring work environments, supporting both established brands and emerging ventures with design-led spaces and outstanding on-site amenities. As a Senior Credit Controller, you will be at the forefront of process automation, continuous improvement initiatives, and stakeholder collaboration, all while enjoying a supportive workplace culture that values your professional growth and wellbeing. If you are passionate about making a tangible impact, thrive in collaborative settings, and are eager to contribute to ongoing finance transformation projects, this role offers the perfect platform for your next career move.

Responsibilities:

* Proactively manage overdue accounts by collaborating closely with the Credit Control Supervisor to ensure timely debt recovery and effective escalation handling.

* Implement and monitor automated dunning processes aimed at improving collection efficiency while maintaining compliance with internal policies.

* Arrange payment proposals for aged debtors, ensuring all agreements are tracked accurately and followed up as required.

* Act as the primary point of contact for escalations from both internal stakeholders and external clients, resolving complex issues with empathy and professionalism.

* Oversee daily bank checks to guarantee accurate cash allocation, reviewing unallocated payments weekly in partnership with the Treasury team.

* Prepare comprehensive monthly management agreement reports and credit balance statements, supporting regular reporting cycles for senior leadership.

* Communicate regular updates to Operations and Finance teams, managing internal meetings and acting as an ambassador for the credit control function.

* Build strong relationships with stakeholders across departments to facilitate issue resolution and maintain high standards of service delivery.

* Contribute actively to finance transformation projects by identifying opportunities for automation, updating process manuals, and embedding best practices throughout the team.

* Line manage and mentor one junior team member through weekly 1:1s, providing guidance on their development while offering cover for the Client Debt Manager when necessary.

The Ideal Candidate:

* Minimum two years’ experience in credit control within a high-volume environment is essential for success in this position.

* Experience within real estate, retail, or hospitality environments preferred.

* Demonstrated involvement in finance transformation or process improvement projects would be highly advantageous.

* Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required; familiarity with SAP Business ByDesign or Salesforce would be beneficial but not mandatory.

* A strong sense of commercial awareness combined with the ability to balance attention to detail with broader strategic thinking is vital.

* Experience working within multi-site organisations is preferred; exposure to the property sector would further strengthen your application.

* Exceptional analytical skills paired with excellent planning and coordination abilities are crucial for managing complex workloads effectively.

* Outstanding communication skills—both written and verbal—are necessary for engaging diverse stakeholders at all levels of the business.

* Proven ability to meet demanding deadlines while adapting quickly to changing priorities ensures continued success in this fast-evolving environment.

* Leadership qualities including coaching skills are important for developing junior team members’ capabilities within a supportive framework.

* A proactive approach coupled with resilience and a passion for continuous improvement will set you apart as an ideal candidate.
