Assistant Accountant

I'm working with a leading global financial services organisation looking to recruit an Accounts Assistant to join its Central Finance team on a maternity cover basis. The successful candidate will be immediately available and ideally based in Kent, with experience working for a multi national company within the Financial Services sector.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the monthly financial close process, ensuring accounting information is accurate and submitted within deadlines.

• Consolidate financial information and accounting inputs from international offices into group ledgers.

• Complete balance sheet reconciliations and support general ledger activities.

• Liaise with international finance teams to resolve queries and ensure accurate reporting.

• Assist with statutory and financial reporting requirements.

• Support audit requests, financial controls and process improvements.

• Get involved in wider finance projects and longer-term accounting activities.

What We're Looking For

• Previous experience in an accounts or finance position, ideally with month-end exposure.

• Experience completing balance sheet reconciliations.

• Good understanding of accounting fundamentals, including debits and credits.

• Strong communication skills and confidence liaising with stakeholders.

• Organised, proactive and comfortable working to deadlines.

• AAT qualified, studying towards ACCA/CIMA or qualified by experience.

• Multi-entity or international finance experience would be advantageous.
