Credit Controller (3-Month Fixed-Term Contract)

Location: Cannock, Staffordshire (5 days per week onsite)
Salary: £30,000 equivalent pro rata
Contract: 3-Month Fixed-Term Contract

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Credit Controller to join a busy finance team on a 3-month fixed-term contract. This is an excellent opportunity for a driven and organised individual who can hit the ground running and support the business in maintaining strong cash flow and reducing aged debt.

Based onsite in Cannock five days per week, you will play a key role in managing customer accounts, ensuring timely collections, and building effective relationships with internal stakeholders and external clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Proactively manage and collect outstanding debt across a portfolio of customer accounts.
• Contact customers by telephone and email to secure prompt payment.
• Investigate and resolve invoice queries and payment disputes efficiently.
• Produce and review aged debt reports, highlighting high-risk accounts.
• Allocate incoming payments and reconcile customer accounts.
• Maintain accurate records of all collection activity and customer communications.
• Work closely with sales, customer service, and finance teams to resolve issues impacting payment.
• Support month-end processes and reporting requirements.
• Ensure adherence to company credit control policies and procedures.

About You

• Previous experience in a Credit Controller, Accounts Receivable, or Collections position.
• Proven ability to manage and reduce aged debt.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.
• Confident working with high volumes of customer accounts.
• Good attention to detail and accurate record-keeping skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and finance systems.
• Ability to work independently and prioritise workload effectively.
• Available to start immediately or at short notice.
