Accounts Payable Team Leader

This is also a genuinely hands-on leadership role. You’ll lead and develop the Finance Operations team, but you’ll also be expected to get stuck into the detail, support the team and take ownership when things need to be resolved.

The Role

You’ll take responsibility for the day-to-day Finance Operations function, covering Accounts Payable, banking, reconciliations, month-end and financial controls.

You’ll also have the opportunity to improve processes, drive efficiencies and make a visible impact across the wider finance function.

• Lead, motivate and develop the Finance Operations team.
• Oversee Accounts Payable, ensuring invoices and payments are accurate and on time.
• Manage banking activities, reconciliations, cash receipts and payment controls.
• Support month-end processes, balance sheet reconciliations and reporting.
• Monitor KPIs and drive performance across the team.
• Maintain strong financial controls and support audit and compliance requirements.
• Identify opportunities for automation, process improvement and increased efficiency.
• Support wider finance projects, systems implementations and business change.
• Build strong relationships with stakeholders and suppliers.

About You

Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or someone with equivalent finance experience who has previously worked within Finance Operations, Transactional Finance or a similar environment.

You’ll be someone who is:

• Hands-on and happy to get stuck into the detail.
• Comfortable leading, coaching and developing a team.
• Highly organised and able to manage multiple priority accounts
