Finance Assistant

About the Role

We’re seeking a detail-oriented Finance Assistant with a strong focus on Accounts Payable (AP) to join our finance team on a 12-month fixed-term basis. This is a hands-on role, ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys taking ownership of high-volume transactional processes.

Working closely with the wider finance team, you’ll play a key role in ensuring supplier invoices are processed accurately and efficiently, maintaining strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external vendors.

Key Responsibilities

Accounts Payable (Primary Focus):

• Processing high volumes of supplier invoices, ensuring accuracy and timely posting
• Matching, batching, and coding invoices to correct cost centres and accounts
• Managing the AP inbox and resolving invoice queries promptly
• Preparing and processing weekly/monthly payment runs
• Reconciling supplier statements and investigating discrepancies
• Maintaining supplier records and setting up new accounts

General Finance Support:

• Assisting with bank reconciliations and cash postings
• Supporting month-end close processes
• Assisting with accruals and prepayments where required
• Providing general administrative support to the finance team
• Supporting audits and compliance checks

About You

• Previous experience in a Finance Assistant / Accounts Payable role (essential)
• Comfortable working in a high-volume, fast-paced AP environment
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Good understanding of accounting principles and finance processes
• Proficient in Excel and finance systems (experience with ERP systems advantageous)
• Excellent organisational and communication skills
• A proactive, team-oriented approach with the ability to meet deadlines
