The challenge

Our client’s talent acquisition team was relatively inexperienced in volume-based recruitment environments and therefore struggled with the demands to meet key KPIs. This challenge was compounded by an aging suite of recruitment infrastructure, further impacting the speed and quality of the hiring process.

Setting up the partnership

Upon initial diagnosis, Robert Walters discovered our client’s recruitment strategy focused on low-touch, high-tech processes, which was not fit-for-purpose because the types of roles they were recruiting required a more human TA team.

The solution

Robert Walters designed a bespoke Modular RPO solution for our client’s high-volume, high-touch needs, focusing on screening, shortlisting and long-listing candidates and talent pooling. The solution was spearheaded by experienced volume recruiters, who could effectively navigate the client’s nuanced talent needs and embed a talent acquisition model that delivered results and exceeded KPIs.

Due to the time sensitivity of what our client required to meet their hiring demands, there was a need to get talent recruited fast. Therefore, we overhauled their recruitment tech and implemented Eploy and integrated it with Avature to better manage the hiring process. Our client shifted towards a high-touch, medium-tech approach, enhancing the direct hiring capabilities of the TA team, and reducing their reliance on external agencies.

Key results

The primary metric of this partnership was successful hire rates, and we exceeded expectations here, improving the direct fulfilment rate by 30% within a year.  The infrastructural revamps that provided a robust framework for managing recruitment activities also helped our client achieve significant cost savings of £16,000 in the first year.
