Robert Walters UK named one of the UK’s Best Workplaces™ for Women by Great Place to Work®

Recruiter Robert Walters and staffing business Walters People have been named as one of the best places to work in the UK for women.

91% of employees surveyed stated that ‘people are treated fairly regardless of their gender.’

Ranking 18th in the UK’s best workplace 2020 in the Large category – Robert Walters and Walters People shares the accolade with the likes of Adobe, SC Johnson and L’Occitane.

The external survey found that 82% of employees at Robert Walters stated that the organisation was a ‘great place to work’ and gave the company an overall trust index score of 79%.

In the past year, the business has launched a Female Mentoring Programme, a Women in the Workplace events programme, leading reports in Gender Diversity, job advert tools to help screen out gender bias, as well as enhancing its own maternity package to be industry leading.

The external audit found that Robert Walters and Walters People ranked higher than the external benchmark on categories including; Diversity, Empowerment & Accountability, Employee Engagement, Our Culture, Trust Outcome, and Values & Ethics.

Both companies’ have been particularly praised for the role management plays in helping Robert Walters and Walters People be a great place to work for women. In fact, employees stated:

  •  86% - management is approachable and easy to talk with
  • 88% - I get empathy and support from my manager when needed
  • 81% - management shows a sincere interest in me as a person, not just an employee
  • 82% - management is honest & ethical in business practices
  • 78% - our senior leaders fully embody the best characteristics of our organisation

 

Best Workplace™ is the largest survey of its kind globally that assess workplace cultures and people practices across 57 countries, and is widely considered the most authentic indicator of good employment practices.
