2018 award criteria
Finance Director of the Year
This award is split into three categories:
- Finance Director of the Year (less than £25 million turnover)
- Finance Director of the Year (£25-100 million turnover)
- Finance Director of the Year (more than £100 million turnover)
Awarded to the Finance Director with a demonstrable legacy of delivery in financial performance, leadership and management. He or she must be able to provide examples of providing strategic direction to their company.
Rising Star of the Year
Presented to the most passionate, driven and delivery focused person in the market. The winner of the award will be a finance professional with under 5 years of experience. They must be able to provide examples of high achievement and out-performing their peer group.
Finance Team of the Year
This award is divided into three categories:
- Finance Team of the Year (small - up to 5 members)
- Finance Team of the Year (medium - 6-19 members)
- Finance Team of the Year (large - 20+ members)
The Finance Team of the Year will demonstrate excellence in their field, with proven examples of collective successes within the last 12 months. The winning team may have positively impacted the wider business through outstanding achievements in the delivery of projects and encompass an infectious team spirit.
Mentor of the Year
This award will go to an individual who has acted as a mentor to another finance professional(s), and has developed, coached and inspired their mentee(s). The award recognises the crucial role mentors play in shaping a young person's success and the outstanding support mentors provide young finance professionals, helping them achieve their career aspirations.
Shared Service Centre of the Year
This award will go to a Shared Service Centre based in the North West and will be measured against the strength of business processes and people focus. We will be looking for examples of key achievements around delivery and providing exemplary customer service.
Business Growth Award
The winner of this award will be an innovative organisation that has achieved financial success due to the direct impact of the accounting and finance team. The winner of this award must be able to provide strategies that have driven business growth, as well as an overview of their financial performance over the last 12 months.
Interim Finance Professional of the Year
The Interim Finance Professional of the Year will have positively impacted the business during a short-term tenure. The winner will provide proven examples of their successes and must be in a temporary contract position.
