An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Accounts Assistant to join a respected organisation near Rochsale, supporting the Global Healthcare Division. This newly created role is perfect for someone who enjoys working collaboratively within a supportive finance team and values accuracy, reliability, and a nurturing work environment.

As an Accounts Assistant based in Littleborough, you will play a vital role in supporting the financial health of the organisation. Your day-to-day activities will involve managing both accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring that all transactions are processed accurately and efficiently.

Key duties include:

  • Maintain accurate accounts payables and accounts receivables ledgers by processing invoices, payments, and receipts with care and precision.
  • Perform credit control activities by monitoring outstanding balances and communicating considerately with customers to ensure timely payments.
  • Reconcile daily bank statements to ensure all transactions are accurately recorded and discrepancies are resolved promptly.
  • Verify and process employee travel expenses by reviewing claims for accuracy and compliance with company policies.
  • Manage inter-company reconciliations and netting to support smooth financial operations across different business units.
  • Oversee the BACS payment run by preparing payment files, obtaining necessary approvals, and ensuring timely execution of payments.

Ideally you will have the following exoerience:

  • Previous experience in accounts payable or general accounting roles demonstrating reliability and accuracy in financial administration tasks.
  • High level of computer literacy enabling you to navigate multiple systems confidently while maintaining data integrity.
  • Working proficiency with SAP (FI module) allowing you to process transactions efficiently within an established ERP environment.
  • Strong organisational skills that enable you to manage competing priorities while meeting tight deadlines without sacrificing attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication abilities so you can interact considerately with colleagues at all levels as well as external partners such as suppliers or auditors.
