FX IT Manager & Lead Engineer

An exciting opportunity for a Lead FX Engineer – Manager to take ownership of a critical high-volume FX Deal Capture platform. This role involves managing a global team while providing technical leadership and driving the modernization of the platform. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the system meets stringent performance, reliability, and availability requirements. * London based * 3-4 days per week in office

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the FX Deal Capture team, ensuring the successful execution of projects within allocated budgets and deadlines.

• Define objectives, project milestones, and completion timelines while assessing potential risks.

• Architect and execute the modernization of the FX booking platform, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems.

• Drive software engineering best practices and ensure high-quality, performant, and reliable systems.

• Engage with key stakeholders, including business users and IT teams, to align technical solutions with business needs.

• Provide strategic technology leadership and contribute to broader departmental technology strategy

• Act as the primary point of contact between IT and business teams for the FX Deal Capture platform.

Key Requirements:

• Strong software engineering expertise with a focus on .NET and C#. Experience with C++ is beneficial.

• Proven experience in high-volume transactional systems such as FX, equities, or similar financial transaction platforms.

• Ability to design systems with sub-second response times, capable of handling large trade volumes and real-time booking updates.

• Understanding of low-latency, high-performance system architecture.

• Experience working with offshore development teams.

• Strong grasp of risk management, trade lifecycle, and position management.

• A proven leader with experience managing global teams, including business analysts, testers, and developers.
