What you'll do:
As a Group Tax Manager, you will play a pivotal role in managing all aspects of corporate income tax and indirect tax compliance. Your expertise will be crucial in preparing corporate tax returns, working closely with external advisors, and ensuring timely payments to tax authorities. You will also be responsible for providing valuable tax advice on new projects, promoting awareness of tax issues across the group, and building strong relationships with key stakeholders. This role offers a unique opportunity to make a significant impact on our financial operations.
- Undertake all aspects of UK corporate income tax and UK indirect tax compliance for UK companies and permanent establishments domiciled in EMEA.
- Liaise with branch staff and tax advisors to ensure local non-uk corporate and indirect tax returns are filed accurately and on time.
- Prepare corporate tax returns by gathering and analysing financial accounting information.
- Work with external advisors for the review of the returns including entities in France and Netherlands.
- Prepare the tax disclosures in the statutory accounts of UK entities and tax computation for quarterly reporting packs.
- Responsible for Large and Complex business communication with HMRC-CCM covering SAO certification, publishing tax strategy for the group.
- Provide tax advice on new projects in the UK and work with advisors on non-UK tax advice for specific projects.
- Promote awareness of tax issues across the group and build relationships with key stakeholders in all jurisdictions covered.
What you bring:
The ideal candidate for this Group Tax Manager role is a qualified tax professional with extensive UK Corporate tax experience, as well as indirect tax and ideally European/International tax experience covering Netherlands and France. You will have experience using Alphatax software and a sound working knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Your excellent tax reporting knowledge, sound IFRS knowledge, and understanding of the evolving tax environment following BEPS and subsequent EU and OECD proposals will be crucial to your success in this role. Your ability to distil complex tax technical situations into practical guidance will be highly valued.
- Qualified Tax professional with good UK Corporate tax experience as well as indirect tax and ideally European/International tax experience covering Netherlands and France.
- Experience in using Alphatax software.
- Sound working knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Excel, Word and Powerpoint.
- Excellent tax reporting knowledge with sound IFRS knowledge.
- Reasonable knowledge of the evolving tax environment following BEPS and subsequent EU and OECD proposals.
- Ability to distil complex tax technical situations into practical and implementable guidance.
- Developing relationships with external advisors, group auditors and tax authorities.
- Confident, with good communication skills.
