Salary: £60,000 - £75,000 p/a

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and motivated Environmental Health and Safety Manager to join a thriving manufacturing organisation in Blackburn. With a competitive salary range of £60,000 - £75,000 p/a, with an attractive bonus and pension scheme also included, this position is ideal for someone who is passionate about fostering a safe workplace, driving compliance with regulatory requirements, and promoting a culture of improvement. This role offers you the chance to make a significant impact by leading EHS initiatives at a high-performance site, ensuring the highest standards of safety and environmental responsibility are met. As Environmental Health and Safety Manager, you’ll play an instrumental role in safeguarding both people and operations. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • designing robust EHS frameworks to meet evolving legislative demands
  • nurture a proactive approach to risk management throughout the organisation
  • close collaboration with colleagues at every level to deliver engaging training sessions
  • empower staff to uphold best practices and take ownership of incident investigations from start to finish
  • report on key metrics such as KPIs or audit findings to provide leadership teams with actionable intelligence that drives continuous improvement
  • build strong relationships with regulatory bodies to ensure seamless compliance processes

Your application should demonstrate a strong background within Environmental, Health & Safety management within a manufacturing environment, with formal qualifications and/or training within EHS (i.e. NEBOSH, IOSH). You’ll be able to bring not only technical expertise but also outstanding interpersonal skills that enable you to connect meaningfully with diverse teams across the facility, driving real change and improvement while also tying your targets and results to wider business plans and goals. You’ll need to be adept at balancing multiple priorities simultaneously without compromising accuracy or integrity, and a natural collaborator who thrives on supporting growth and encouraging a shared approach to improving site EHS culture.
