What you'll do:
As a Conflicts Analyst, you will immerse yourself in a dynamic environment where your attention to detail and analytical skills will be essential for safeguarding the organisation’s reputation. Your day-to-day activities will involve reviewing conflict checks of varying complexity, collaborating with colleagues across departments to resolve issues efficiently, and ensuring that all processes align with regulatory requirements. - Take full ownership of conflict checks throughout the entire process, from initial review through to matter record creation, ensuring accuracy at every stage.
- Provide clear and concise escalations to Team Leaders and Senior Managers when required, supporting effective decision-making within the team.
- Collaborate closely with the Client Terms Team to analyse engagement terms and provide input on bespoke conflict terms from both commercial and strategic perspectives.
- Identify sanctions-related issues promptly and escalate them as necessary to the Financial Crime Team for further action.
- Adhere strictly to internal compliance policies and procedures while utilising global conflicts systems and other relevant platforms to review and analyse data efficiently.
- Lead discussions with lawyers and partners to ascertain the presence of any legal, commercial or confidential information conflicts, proposing practical resolutions even in complex transactions involving differing stakeholder views.
- Ensure internal conflict flags remain current and relevant by maintaining meticulous records within the system.
- Support timely progression of daily workflow in accordance with service level agreements (SLAs), contributing to the smooth operation of the department.
What you will bring:
In this Conflicts Analyst position, your proven experience within risk management or compliance—ideally gained in an international law firm—will be invaluable. Your familiarity with regulatory frameworks such as SRA Standards & Regulation or equivalent codes ensures you can navigate complex legal landscapes confidently.
- Educated to bachelor’s degree level (preferably in law) or possess equivalent experience relevant to risk management or compliance roles within professional services environments.
- Hold a relevant professional qualification (desirable), demonstrating commitment to ongoing professional development within compliance or legal sectors.
