What you'll do:

In the capacity of Personal Injury Solicitor based in Birmingham, you will:

  • Provide assistance to experienced fee earners in all facets of case management across a varied portfolio encompassing personal injury, employers’ liability, public liability, highways matters, housing disrepair, property damage, social care issues, data protection concerns, and cases involving educational establishments.
  • Undertake meticulous legal research and prepare high-calibre witness statements and client reports to facilitate thorough case preparation.
  • Draft documentation for court proceedings and attend both client meetings and court hearings to offer essential support to senior solicitors.
  • Engage effectively with clients, Counsel, experts, and other stakeholders by responding promptly and accurately to correspondence and telephone enquiries under supervision or independently as circumstances require.
  • Review records with precision to ensure accuracy in case files and contribute proactively to the team’s business development activities.
  • Complete management information procedures as required to uphold operational efficiency within the department.
  • Consistently meet established financial targets and chargeable hours while maintaining exemplary standards of quality in all deliverables.
  • Ensure rigorous adherence to deadlines, service level agreements (SLAs), key performance indicators (KPIs), and internal quality benchmarks at all times.
  • Comply fully with all relevant policies and procedures prescribed by both the firm and its clients, upholding organisational values throughout your work.
  • Undertake additional responsibilities as necessary within the broader remit of the role to support the collective success of the team.

What you bring:

To excel as a Personal Injury Solicitor within this Birmingham-based team, you will bring:

  • Demonstrable experience providing assistance with employers’ liability or public liability casualty claims within a legal context is requisite for this appointment.
  • A comprehensive understanding of personal injury law—including familiarity with public liability (PL), employers’ liability (EL), highways legislation, housing law, social care regulations—and awareness of data protection requirements such as GDPR.
  • Proven capability in managing your own caseload of casualty matters with minimal supervision whilst maintaining exacting standards in drafting legal documentation.
  • Exemplary written communication skills complemented by refined verbal abilities that enable you to establish rapport with clients and colleagues alike.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills that promote effective teamwork as well as independent working when appropriate.
  • Competence in utilising IT systems pertinent to legal practice together with robust organisational skills that facilitate efficient prioritisation of multiple tasks under pressure.
  • Meticulous attention to detail combined with sustained concentration ensures nothing is overlooked during case preparation or review stages.
  • Capacity for effective multi-tasking whilst adhering strictly to deadlines imposed by clients or regulatory authorities.
  • Familiarity with Civil Procedure Rules (CPR) supported by demonstrable technical proficiency in applying these rules within practical casework situations.
