What you'll do:

  • Manage your own caseload of clinical negligence claims from inception through to resolution, ensuring each client receives high-quality legal advice and empathetic support throughout their journey.
  • Work collaboratively with experienced partners and senior associates on complex cases involving adults and children affected by medical negligence across various healthcare settings.
  • Negotiate settlements with NHS Trusts, private practitioners, general practitioners (GPs), and insurers while striving for the best possible outcome for each client.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and internal policies related to case management, confidentiality, data protection, and ethical standards.
  • Participate actively in team meetings and knowledge-sharing sessions to contribute ideas for continuous improvement in service delivery.
  • Support junior colleagues through supervision or informal mentoring as required by the team structure.
  • Engage in responsible business activities such as pro bono work or community investment projects aligned with the firm's values.

What you bring:

  • 4+PQE.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently manage a caseload of litigated clinical negligence matters from initial instruction through conclusion while maintaining high standards of client care.
  • Strong written communication skills evidenced by drafting detailed correspondence, instructions for experts or counsel, witness statements, pleadings or settlement documents.
  • A collaborative approach that embraces open-mindedness; willingness to share insights or suggest improvements that enhance overall service quality for clients.
