What you'll do:

- Work collaboratively with experienced partners and senior associates on complex cases involving adults and children affected by medical negligence across various healthcare settings.
- Pursue interim payments wherever possible to facilitate early rehabilitation, care packages, or suitable accommodation for clients before final settlement of claims.
- Provide clear communication and regular updates to clients regarding case progress while maintaining sensitivity towards their individual circumstances.
- Undertake thorough investigations into clinical incidents by gathering evidence, instructing experts, and preparing detailed reports to build robust cases on behalf of clients.
- Negotiate settlements with NHS Trusts, private practitioners, general practitioners (GPs), and insurers while striving for the best possible outcome for each client.
What you bring:
- Ideally possess 1-3 years’ post-qualification experience specifically within medical or clinical negligence law gained at a reputable practice or similar setting.
- Demonstrated ability to independently manage a caseload of litigated clinical negligence matters from initial instruction through conclusion while maintaining high standards of client care.
- Clear enthusiasm for advocating on behalf of vulnerable individuals affected by medical errors coupled with a commitment to achieving positive outcomes under pressure.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills enabling you to build trust-based relationships with clients facing challenging circumstances as well as colleagues across multidisciplinary teams.
- Proven organisational abilities allowing you to prioritise tasks effectively when working towards deadlines or balancing competing demands within your workload.
- Strong written communication skills evidenced by drafting detailed correspondence, instructions for experts or counsel, witness statements, pleadings or settlement documents.
