In House Employment Counsel
A highly regarded in-house legal team is looking for an employment lawyer to take on a wide-ranging role advising on all aspects of workplace law. You’ll partner with HR and leadership across the business, acting as a trusted advisor on people matters in a regulated environment. This is an opportunity for a lawyer who thrives on both strategic input and hands-on delivery. If you're confident working autonomously, skilled at interpreting complex rules, and want to help drive organisational change, this role offers real scope and challenge.
What you’ll be doing
-
Advising on the full spectrum of employment legal matters, including employee conduct, workplace change, internal processes and disputes.
-
Taking ownership of litigation and resolution strategies on employment-related claims and complaints.
-
Preparing and reviewing employment documentation such as contracts, benefit plans, exit arrangements, and workforce policies.
-
Playing a key role in business initiatives with legal implications for staff, including restructures, incentive schemes and governance reviews.
-
Offering practical, solution-focused advice to help manage legal exposure and align with business goals.
What you’ll bring
-
Legal qualification in England & Wales
-
Solid grounding in employment law, ideally with experience in both advisory and contentious work.
-
Previous experience in a respected legal practice or in house legal team.
-
Excellent communication skills and the ability to advise and influence at senior levels.
-
Understanding of employment-related regulatory requirements such as conduct frameworks or accountability rules.
-
Prior involvement in complex or international people projects.
About the role
You’ll join a supportive, well-resourced legal team that works closely with the business on high-impact people issues. Whether advising on day-to-day matters or contributing to long-term workforce strategy, you’ll play a key role in how the organisation manages its employment-related legal risk.
This role offers the chance to lead complex matters, shape policy, and collaborate with others to deliver trusted and strategic legal advice. Depending on the setup, you may also have the opportunity to mentor others or take the lead on specific workstreams.
