Robert Walters Group UK donated £35,213 this year towards their chosen charity Cancer Research UK.
The bulk of the fundraising took place on the Group’s annual Charity Day, on Friday 12 October 2018 through an extraordinary display of initiative, athleticism and creativity by Robert Walters Group staff, across multiple sites, and Resource Solutions client sites in London, the South East, the Midlands and the North West.
Fundraising activities included a non-stop 24hr cycle, a walk from St Albans to London, all the way through to leg waxing for gents, and the chicken nugget eating competition.
Robert Walters UK CEO, Chris Hickey comments:
“We’re very proud to have the opportunity to raise funds for Cancer Research UK and to help them continue to deliver on the life-changing research they do.
“Our annual Charity Day means a lot to the Group and everyone who works at Robert Walters. I’m always extremely impressed at the level of creativity, dedication and competitiveness our staff bring to the day!”
This amount covers the cost for 10 months of a clinical trial to find better treatments for children with Neuroblastoma.
Joe Bundy, Fundraising Manager for Cancer Research UK, comments:
“On behalf of everyone at Cancer Research UK – and those whose lives are being saved by our work – thank you to everyone at Robert Walters for the amazing amount of over £35,000 raised on your 2018 charity day.
“This amount covers the cost for 10 months of a clinical trial to find better treatments for children with Neuroblastoma. Currently 2 in 4 people in the UK survive their cancer, and we are moving towards 3 in 4 people surviving within the next 20 years. Everyone at Robert Walters is very much a part of our journey to beat cancer sooner.”
