Regulatory Reporting AVP
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Regulatory Reporting AVP to join a leading global Investment Bank in London. This contract role sits at the heart of the organisation’s regulatory operations, providing you with the chance to make a significant impact on regulatory standards across multiple international entities. You will be responsible for complex trade and transaction reporting requirements, supporting both business-as-usual activities and strategic change initiatives.
- Enjoy a pivotal role in maintaining and enhancing regulatory compliance across EMEA, North America, and Asia, working with diverse teams and stakeholders from legal, compliance, technology, audit, and risk functions.
- Benefit from hands-on involvement in both day-to-day operations and long-term process improvements, including the design and implementation of new operating models and technical infrastructure.
- Experience a collaborative culture that encourages continuous learning, cross-training opportunities, and personal development while working on high-impact projects in a dynamic financial services environment.
Please note - This opportunity is an initial 6 month contract with the potential to go permanent.
What you'll do:
As a Regulatory Reporting AVP, you will play an integral role in safeguarding the organisation’s reputation through meticulous oversight of trade and transaction reporting activities. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve close monitoring of multiple regulatory regimes such as EMIR/SFTR, CFTC/CSA/ASIC/HKMA and MiFID2. You will be expected to investigate any anomalies or rejections in submissions swiftly while ensuring that reconciliations are performed accurately each day. Your ability to prepare detailed management information reports will be crucial in keeping senior leaders informed about key developments. In addition to these core duties, you will work collaboratively with colleagues across compliance, legal, technology, audit, risk management, and regulatory assurance functions to drive continuous improvement initiatives. By maintaining up-to-date desk procedures and supporting business analysis for new projects or system enhancements, you will help foster an environment where operational risks are minimised and efficiency gains are realised. Your commitment to teamwork will also see you providing cover during absences and cross-training others within the team.
- Provide primary support for intra-day monitoring of all supported regulatory regimes to ensure timely identification and resolution of issues.
- Investigate rejected submissions thoroughly to determine root causes and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Perform daily reconciliation of reported transactions using industry-standard applications to maintain data integrity and accuracy.
- Prepare comprehensive management information (MI) reports related to transaction reporting activities for senior leadership review.
- Capture and maintain accurate regulatory static data within internal systems to support ongoing compliance obligations.
- Support clients’ portfolio reconciliation requirements for various branches across London, Paris, and Europe by ensuring all queries are addressed promptly.
- Ensure that desk procedures remain current by identifying areas for improvement and collaborating with department heads to implement changes.
- Liaise effectively with compliance, legal, technology, project management, audit, risk, and regulatory assurance teams to facilitate smooth operations.
- Assist in minimising operational risk by proactively identifying potential issues within trade and transaction reporting processes.
- Contribute to business analysis efforts for unfunded projects and provide systems administration support for reporting solutions when necessary.
What you bring:
To excel as a Regulatory Reporting AVP, you will bring substantial experience gained from working within complex financial services environments—ideally covering multiple regulatory regimes such as EMIR or MiFID II. Your background should include direct involvement in operations or compliance teams where you have developed an acute awareness of the end-to-end lifecycle events associated with securities or derivatives products. Familiarity with leading vendor platforms like UnaVista or DTCC is essential as is your comfort navigating advanced Excel functionalities including VBA scripting. Your interpersonal skills will enable you to build trusted relationships across departments while your written communication ensures clarity when preparing technical documentation or escalation materials. A methodical approach coupled with analytical thinking allows you not only to identify but also resolve issues efficiently even when faced with competing priorities. Above all else your reliability under pressure—combined with unwavering attention to detail—will set you apart as someone who can be depended upon during critical periods.
- Demonstrated experience with at least two major regulatory reporting regimes or core regulatory functions such as MIFID II, EMIR, CFTC/Dodd Frank or SFTC at an AVP equivalent level.
- Proven track record working within support functions that offer cross-product exposure across securities, derivatives or treasury products.
- Solid background in operations or compliance roles with deep understanding of operational lifecycle events relevant to financial instruments.
- Hands-on experience using external vendor platforms supporting trade & transaction reporting (e.g., TRAX, Trade Echo, UnaVista or DTCC).
- Strong proficiency in Excel (including VBA) alongside other Microsoft Office applications for preparing technical summaries or escalation notes.
- Excellent written communication skills with the ability to produce clear management documents tailored for different audiences.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders from legal, compliance, technology, project management or audit backgrounds.
- Competence in documenting policies/procedures relating to trade & transaction reporting processes for internal use.
- Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities applied within fast-paced environments under tight deadlines.
- Calm approach under pressure combined with excellent attention to detail; able to manage large workloads without compromising accuracy.
