Data Analyst

A global asset manager is seeking a Data Analyst to join their Operations team. A pivotal role ensuring the accuracy and reliability of investment data, supporting stakeholders, and participating in projects.

What you'll do:

• Deliver operational data expertise by supporting investment teams with high-quality data services.
• Secure daily production tasks by loading datasets, verifying overnight batches, checking accruals quality, and ensuring consistency of data across various systems.
• Manage exceptions related to instruments and portfolios by setting up securities accurately upon request from fund managers or traders, resolving issues promptly, and escalating complex matters when necessary.
• Perform comprehensive daily checks on securities data to maintain high standards of accuracy and integrity within core investment datasets including statics, classifiers, pricing, analytics, valuations, and profit & loss figures.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of procedures by presenting findings and recommendations that enhance operational efficiency as the business evolves.
• Participate in the implementation of new data management processes and support the rollout of an Enterprise Data Management (EDM) solution within an agile project framework.
• Engage in transversal operations projects by collaborating with stakeholders to understand business challenges, investigate root causes, and communicate actionable solutions to management.
• Collaborate proactively with international colleagues based in Singapore to manage daily handovers effectively and ensure seamless global coverage of critical data operations.

What you bring:

• Undergraduate degree in Finance or Sciences providing you with a solid foundation for understanding complex financial concepts relevant to asset management.
• At least 2-3 years’ experience in a similar capacity within asset management, investment banking or financial vendors enabling you to navigate industry-specific challenges confidently.
• Comprehensive knowledge of securities static data along with familiarity with pricing methodologies, analytics frameworks, portfolio valuation techniques (including ETD, OTC, Alternative Assets), which allows you to handle diverse datasets effectively.
• Proficiency with investment operations systems such as Bloomberg, Markit, Simcorp, Charles River or NeoXam; experience with JIRA or Tableau would be advantageous for streamlining workflows or visualising insights.
• Excellent communication skills paired with a culture of service excellence so you can build trust-based relationships with stakeholders at all levels while adapting smoothly to shift/rota patterns.
• Demonstrated ability to establish effective engagement with transversal stakeholders ensuring smooth information flow across departments.
