Seeking an experienced and dynamic lending professional for a challenging front-office VP/Director role in a global financial institution. Join our Transaction Management team, playing a pivotal "player-coach" role in a fast-paced environment. Focus on a core sector (Shipping or Maritime Finance) while gaining exposure to others. Involves significant client interaction and internal collaboration.

The Transaction Management team is involved in every new lending transaction, working closely with client relationship managers and Deal Principals. You will take primary responsibility for key processes and guide junior bankers.

Key Responsibilities (VP/Director Level):

  • Supporting sector bankers in the origination of new transactions, including providing input into marketing materials, due diligence, and term sheets.
  • Issuing instructions to legal firms for loan document preparation, reviewing these, and supporting client negotiations.
  • Reviewing legal documentation to ensure it reflects credit approval conditions and balances risk appetite.
  • Preparing and reviewing due diligence, includingsummarizing and performinganalytics.
  • Supervising and authoringGreenlight memos, presentations, and discussions with Risk Management.
  • Ensuring thefulfillment of conditions precedent (CPs) and coordinating with various internal departments for smooth deal closing.
  • Cultivating a cohesive team by providing guidance,mentorship, and training to support new and junior team members.
  • Captaining the Execution Team and guiding transactions fromGreenlight through closing.
  • Managing special projects as directed by management.
  • Coaching junior colleagues in their personal and professional development.

General Transaction Management Responsibilities:

  • Preparing and processing credit approval packages efficiently.
  • Financialmodeling with sensitivity analysis and validating key assumptions.
  • Running internal models, including risk ratings and loan pricing, and interfacing with risk management.
  • Ensuring compliance with internal policies.
  • Responsibility for deal closing, including finalCPs and obtaining final loan documents.
  • Supporting term sheet negotiations.
  • Analyzing different transaction structures and providing recommendations.
  • Preparing businesscomparables and analysis of debt structures and performance metrics.
  • Attending meetings and calls with clients for transaction-related due diligence.

Candidate Profile:

  • Education: University-level education in finance, economics, accounting, management, engineering, or a similar field.CFA is desirable.
  • Experience: 5+ years of relevant banking experience at a leading financial institution. Prior experience in asset-based finance, particularly shipping finance, is desirable. Experience with both corporate and project finance loan origination and execution, and understanding of debt capital markets.
  • Competencies: Strong credit skills, including financial modeling ability. Experience in loan documentation negotiation. Collaborative and inclusive team player. Strong interest and prior experience in wholesale banking. Openness to learn new industry sectors. Committed individual focused on continuous improvement. Global mindset. Authentic and confident presentation and communication skills. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deal-oriented, and deadline-driven environment with multiple competing priorities.
